Liverpool's Premier League title defence would have started off with an upset had it not been for Mohamed Salah. Leeds United who were returning to the Premier League after 16 years, looked like a team on a mission as they matched The Reds goal by goal. Salah though made sure that his side remained a step ahead and his hat-trick made sure Liverpool win 4-3 in a classic. Leeds though were on course of leaving Anfield with a point before Salah settled the game with an 88th minute spot-kick. Salah is now only the second player to score on the opening day of 4 consecutive Premier League games across clubs. His effort saved the day for Liverpool, helping them extend their unbeaten home league run to 60 games.
