Shershaah producer Shabbir Boxwala has revealed that Salman Khan had approached him for casting his brother-in-law Aayush Sharma as Captain Vikram Batra in Shershaah.

Speaking about it, Shabbir said they couldn't cast Aayush in the film since Sidharth Malhotra had already been finalised for the role.

The producer further added by the time Salman approached him late Vikram Batra's family had already given their nod about Sidharth playing the war hero and a meeting had been arranged between the actor and the family.

Stating that it would have been unethical to replace Sidharth with another actor, producer Shabbir added Salman & Aayush were very understanding and took it in the right spirit when he explained the situation to them.

Aayush made his debut with Loveyatri in 2018, under Salman's production house Salman Khan Films, alongside Warina Hussain.
