The Enforcement Directorate arrested Ramesh Chandra, father of Sanjay Chandra and founder of Unitech. The ED also arrested Sanjay Chandra's wife Preeti Chandra in connection with money laundering.

ED on September 30 attached 29 land parcels with a book value of ₹30 crore in relation to the investigation being conducted against Unitech Group. These land parcels were illegally allotted to Carnoustie Management (India) Pvt Ltd by Chandras, the ED had said.

Ramesh handra’s two sons, Ajay and Sanjay, are lodged in Mumbai’s Taloja jail after the SC directed that they be shifted from Tihar jail when the ED approached it with evidence of them running a secret office, laundering homebuyers’ money.

The ED has alleged that the brothers and the group illegally diverted Rs 2,000 crore to Cyprus and Cayman Islands.
