US President Donald Trump boasted that he saved Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman from greater scrutiny over the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to a new book, news agency AFP has reported. In one of the interviews with Watergate-fame reporter Bob Woodward, Trump defended Mohammed bin Salman over the gruesome murder of Khashoggi inside a Saudi consulate in Turkey. "I saved his ass. I was able to get Congress to leave him alone. I was able to get them to stop," Trump told Woodward for his forthcoming book "Rage", according to excerpts published in US media.
