Second-hand smoking may lead to chronic kidney disease

A new study has revealed that people exposed to second-hand smoking could have an increased risk of developing chronic kidney diseases. The Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology has published the study conducted with 131,196 non-smokers. After making adjustments for BMI, diabetes, age, and other behavioural characteristics, deduced that those who were exposed to second-hand smoke at the start of the study ran a risk of 44 per cent of suffering from kidney disease.
