Today marks the 89th birth anniversary of Shammi Kapoor and on the occasion we took a look at his Bollywood journey.
Born on 21 October 1931, Shamsher Raj Kapoor aka Shammi Kapoor made his big Bollywood debut in 1953 with the film 'Jeewan Jyoti'. From 1953 to 1957, most of his films went unoticed. Despite being the son of Prithviraj Kapoor and younger brother of Raj Kapoor, nearly 25 of his films flopped continuously at the box office.
However, the actor later began impressing audience with his superhits like 'Tumsa Nahin Dekha', 'Dil Deke Dekho', 'Junglee', 'Kashmir Ki Kali', 'Teesri Manzil' among others. He made a place for himself in the industry with his dancing skills. Shammi won everyone's hearts with his dance moves in songs like 'Yahoo', 'Badan Pe Sitare' and 'Tareef Karoon Kya Uski'. Shammi Kapoor was last seen in Ranbir Kapoor-starrer 'Rockstar' in which he played a small but memorable role.
