'She asked me to sing': Babul Supriyo on his 'musical meeting' with Mamata Banerjee

Former Union minister Babul Supriyo met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday. This was his first meeting with the TMC chief after he joined the the party last week, a month after he had quit active politics.

Supriyo thanked Mamata and Abhishek Banerjee for ‘affectionately and warmly’ welcoming him to the TMC family.

Speaking to reporters he said he had a "musical meeting" with the TMC supremo. He said the Chief Minister asked him to work and also ‘sing with all his heart’

Asked about his role in the TMC, Supriyo said it was for the party to decide.

Supriyo will reach Delhi on Wednesday and submit his resignation as BJP MP to the Lok Sabha Speaker. He said he quit the BJP because he was not okay with being benched
