Singer-songwriter Shaan has been roped in to play a pivotal role in the upcoming Hindi-Telugu musical drama musical 'Music School'.

The movie will be helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Papa Rao Biyyala and prolific Indian composer Ilaiyaraaja who has written 12 original songs for the project.

Sharman Joshi and Shriya Saran have been cast as the main leads of the film and singer Shaan has been roped in to play the role of Saran’s ex-boyfriend. Shaan will also lend his voice for a song in the film.

Elated with the news, the 'Chand Sifarish' singer said that it will be a very new experience for him to act, and that he couldn’t have asked for a better fit.

'Music School' is about the pressures of an unimaginative education system and its impact on children, which aims only to make them doctors or engineers, leaving no time for art or sport.
