SL vs WI: Concerning moment in Galle as debutant Jeremy Solozano stretchered off after head injury

West Indies' 1st Test vs Sri Lanka in Galle had a concerning incident on Day 1 when debutant Jeremy Solozano got hit on the helmet and was then stretchered off the ground.

The incident occurred in the 24th over of Sri Lanka's first innings bowled by Roston Chase. Dimuth Karunaratne played a pull shot that struck Solozano on the helmet grill, who was fielding at short leg. Medical staff examined the player before taking him off the field on the stretcher into a waiting ambulance which took the 26-year-old straight to a hospital for scans.

Solozano was conscious and responsive when he was being taken off the field.
