The political storm triggered by the ouster of BS Yeddiyurappa is yet to settle for BJP leadership in Karnataka. It’s been less than a fortnight since the formation of the new cabinet and dissent is brimming in BJP ranks over portfolios.

Tourism Minister Anand Singh has shut his MLA office in Hospet in protest over portfolio allocation. Reports suggest that Singh is ready with his resignation letter and CM Bommai has been in touch with him.

MTB Nagaraj has also been publicly vocal over his displeasure with the municipal administration, small scale and public sector industries portfolio.

Incidentally, Singh and Nagaraj are both turncoats, who switched from Congress in 2019, a crucial switch that led to BJP toppling the JD(S)-Congress government.

Hundreds of BJP supporters have also protested at Freedom Park, unhappy with the state leadership for not awarding Appachu Ranjan any portfolio.
