Soccer legend Pele released from hospital after a tumor removal surgery

Soccer legend Pele returns to his home after weeks of intensive care in the hospital. The former Brazilian footballer underwent surgery and had a tumor removed from his colon on September 4th. Post-surgery he was transferred to an intensive care facility.

The 80-year-old shared an Instagram post where he wrote “I am happy to be back at home,” he also thanked the team from the hospital who made his stay at the hospital pleasant. The doctors from the hospital mentioned that he is stable and will continue with his chemotherapy.

The tumor was found during his routine check-ups in August. One of the greatest football players of all time, Pele has won 3 world cups, and he is also the all-time leading scorer for Brazil with 77 goals in 92 appearances.
