Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the Modi government on issues ranging from farmers to suspension of Opposition MPs.
Addressing a Congress parliamentary party meeting, Sonia Gandhi called the suspension of 12 MPs “unprecedented and unacceptable”. She added that Congress stands in solidarity with the suspended MPs.
The suspended members of Parliament from Rajya Sabha comprise six from the Congress, two each from Trinamool Congress and Shiv Sena, and one each from the CPI and the CPM.

The members were suspended for alleged unruly conduct towards the end of the monsoon session in August when marshals were called after Opposition members stormed the Well of the House
On the farmers' issue, Sonia called the Modi government "insensitive" and demanded compensation for those killed during the anti-farm laws agitation. She also reiterated Congress' support to the farmers' demand for legally guaranteed MSP.
