Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding the reversal of the vaccine pricing policy and said there could not be different prices for state governments, private hospitals and the Centre.

Gandhi urged PM to intervene, reverse ill-considered decision of differential vaccine pricing and ensure uniform price.

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee also questioned the disparity in pricing for the State and private hospitals.

She further said why will there be differences in pricing? "Is it time for doing business? It’s not. It’s time to save people’s lives as they are suffering due to Covid-19".
