You may soon be able to get your driving license without any test at the RTO. The Times of India has reported that a new rule notified by the road transport ministry will allow people to get a driving licence after successfully undergoing training at any accredited driver training centre. People who pass the required training won’t need to undertake a driving test at any RTO.
But you will have to complete the training and pass the test, which needs to be recorded electronically for audit, the report added.
This entire process will be tech-driven and without any human interference. The accreditation will be given to centres that meet the criteria of space, driving track, IT and biometric system, the report said quoting an official.
The rule will reportedly come into force from July.
