Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios' latest offering 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' is raking in the moolah at the Box office worldwide. The film had one of the biggest opening weekends in India, despite spike in Covid-19 cases due to the Omicron variant.
The film has given a new lease of life to theatres. In a tweet, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#SpiderMan is unshakable and unbeatable on Day 3, the film fetched over ₹26 cr on a non-festival Saturday. On Thursday the film earned Rs 32.67 cr, Rs 20.37 cr on Friday, and Rs 26.10 crore on Saturday, leading to a total of ₹79.14 cr net, while the gross Box Office earnings across India were to the tune of ₹100.84 crore.
Internationally, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' earned a record $253 million opening weekend. The numbers are not only a record for the pandemic era, but are massive otherwise too.
The film takes forward the story of Peter Parker after his true identity is exposed. The fallout forces him to take help of Dr Strange aka Benedict Cumberbatch, to perform a ritual that would make every person on earth forget Parker’s identity.
