The Asian Cricket Council(ACC) on Tuesday announced the schedule for Asia Cup 2022, which is due to start in the UAE on August 27. Sri Lanka will take on Afghanistan in the opening encounter.
All eyes though will be on the 2nd game of the tournament when India take on arch-rivals Pakistan on August 28. Reacting to the news, ACC president Jay Shah said that the tournament will serve as ideal preparation for the World T20, due to be played in October-November in Australia.
The tournament was earlier due to be played in Sri Lanka but was moved to the UAE due to political tensions in the island nation.
