Australia's bench strength will be put to test as the Kangaroos will be without the services of Pat Cummins, David Warner, Mitch Starc, Glenn Maxwell, and Josh Hazlewood for their upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan.
Cricket Australia on Tuesday announced a 16 member squad for the 3 match ODI series and a single T20I against the Asian nation starting 29th March. The big names have opted out of the limited over series as it clashes with the start of the Indian Premier League which will reportedly start in the last week of March.
While Maxwell is missing the series due to his wedding, Cummins, Hazlewood, and Warner will leave Pakistan after the Test series which ends on 25th March to remain available for the upcoming cash-rich league. However, the Cricket Australia contracted players will only be released after their annual leave begins on 6th April.
