22-time Grand Slam Champion Rafael Nadal crashed out of the Australian Open in just the second round.

The defending champion lost to USA's Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets, 4-6 4-6 5-7.

It was the biggest win of McDonald's career who dominated the first two sets before he was aided by an injury problem to Nadal.

36-year-old Nadal pulled up with a hip problem towards the end of the second set and eventually went down in 2 hours and 32 minutes.
