Finally, the inevitable has happened!
The BCCI Medical team has ruled out Team India's bowling spearhead Jasprit Bumrah for the T20 World Cup in Australia.
The news comes as a major blow for the Men In Blue as the tiniest possibility of having Bumrah in the T20 World Cup has been put to bed.
In a media statement, BCCI said the decision was taken following a detailed assessment and after consultation with the specialists.
The statement added that BCCI will announce Bumrah's replacement soon.
Having recovered from Covid-19, Mohd Shami is one of the frontrunners to replace the Indian bowling lynchpin in the squad along with Deepak Chahar.
Both the pacers are currently on India's standby list and one of them should get the nod for the main squad.
Moreover, Mohammed Siraj, who replaced Bumrah in the ongoing T20I series against South Africa, could also travel with the touring party if media reports doing the rounds are to be believed.
Team India will take the flight for Australia on October 6 from Mumbai.
