CWG: India jump to fifth spot on Birmingham 2022 medal tally

On Day 8 of Commonwealth Games 2022, a stupendous performance from wrestlers pushed India to the 5th spot on Birmingham 2022 medal tally. All the six wrestlers competing on August 5 won medals for India. Bajrang Punia, Deepak Punia and female wrestler Sakshi Malik clinched gold medals, while Anshu Malik won the silver, Divya Kakran and Mohit won bronze medals. India now have a total of 26, including medals from the Para Games. India leapfrogged from seventh place to number five.

Australia retain the top position with 140 medals. England are at number two with 131 medals, while Canada is in third place. With 41 medals in their kitty, New Zealand are at the 4th spot
