The Indian women’s cricket team qualified for the semi-finals after thrashing Barbados by a massive 100-run margin.
Barbados, who had started well by getting rid of Smriti Mandhana in just the 2nd over, couldn’t quite capitalise on the advantage with Shafali Varma & Jemimah Rodrigues putting together a 70+ partnership for the 2nd wicket.
Jemimah’s unbeaten 56 along with Deepti Sharma’s 34* off 28 balls helped the Women in Blue past the 160-run mark.

In reply, Barbados were just never in the game. Pacer Renuka Singh took 4 as the women from the Caribbean finished with only 62/8 from their 20 overs.
Having finished behind Australia in their group, India’s opponent in the semi-finals will be the winner of the England Vs New Zealand match on Thursday.
