The National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru has declared Prithvi Shaw fit and the opening batter will be added to Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad. He is likely to play the game against Bengal in Kolkata from February 2.
Shaw had injured his knee in August while playing a one-day game for Northamptonshire and was out of action from 6 months. An MRI had revealed that Shaw had grade-II tear of posterior cruciate ligament.
“He has been declared fit and can take part in the Ranji Trophy games. The BCCI has informed the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) about it,” a BCCI official confirmed.
Shaw has been batting in the practice nets at the NCA in Bengaluru.
He made his India debut back in 2018 and has played 5 Tests, 6 ODIs and 1 T20I so far.
