Former Indian fast bowler Javagal Srinath will be officiating in his 250th ODI as the ICC Match Referee during India's Asia Cup 2023 match against Nepal.
Javagal Srinath joins an elite group of ICC Match Referees, only the fourth to reach the landmark after Ranjan Madugalle, Chris Broad, and Jeff Crowe.
“I am privileged to be still associated with the game. I have had a wonderful run since my international debut as match referee in a Test match between Sri Lanka and South Africa in Colombo back in 2006 and will strive to do my best in the coming years," said Srinath, reflecting on his 17-year journey as a match referee.
Since his debut as ICC Match Referee in 2006, Srinath has officiated in prestigious events like the ICC Cricket World Cup and ICC T20 World Cup. His cricketing legacy spans 67 Tests and 229 ODIs for India before he decided to become an ICC official.
