India defeated a meek Sri Lankan side by 9 wickets to win their record 8th Under 19 Asia Cup in the rain-marred final on Friday in Dubai.
Winning the toss, Sri Lanka opted to bat but that decision went against them as the young guns in Blue led by Yash Dhull produced a clinical attack with the ball that restricted the Lankan team to a mere 104. Dominating the scene were, Ravi Kumar, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, and Vicky Ostwal. While Kumar and Hangargekar each got a wicket each, Ostwal picked 3, giving away just 11 runs.
Although the match had been reduced to 38 overs due to rain, India wrapped it up within 22 overs.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi's 56 in 68 balls and SK Rasheed's 31 off 48 helped India get past the finish line easily.
