World No. 1 Iga Swiatek crashed out of the Australian Open after a straight-set defeat against the reigning Wimbledon Champion Elena Rybakina in Melbourne on Sunday.
The 22nd-seeded Rybakina of Kazhakhastan handed the 3-time Grand Slam champion a 6-4, 6-4 loss in about 1 1/2 hours to reach the Australian Open quarterfinals for the first time. The top-seeded Polish star who was knocked out of the event had won French Open and U.S. Open last season.

Rybakina will next face Jelena Ostapenko of Latvia on 24th January in the quarterfinals.
