After Sunriser Hyderabad's 7-wicket loss to Lucknow Super Giants, Irfan Pathan slammed the Aiden Markam-led side for not handling 'league's fastest bowler' Umran Malik well.
SRH is having another tough season as the team is languishing in the 9th spot in the IPL table with just 4 wins. Out of Sunrisers Hyderabad's 11 games so far, Umran Malik has only featured in 7 where he has taken 5 wickets at an economy of 10.35 per over.
Malik's exclusion from the XI 'baffled' Pathan who on Twitter wrote, 'Umran Malik was not handled well by his team'
Brett Lee too echoed Pathan's concerns and said, 'I don't think SRH has used their bowlers at the right places, I would love to see Umran Mlaik in the powerplay, he has bowled once in the powerplay this season and he went for 20 odd runs but that was a one off case. it's almost like saying to a batsman that you have to bat but if you get a duck you are never going to bat ever again. You need to have faith and commitment in these guys coming through. I would always give the fast bowler in IPL a brand new ball and give the correct field, giving him confidence to run and bowl the old ball'
