The Bangladesh men's team was stunned by low-ranked USA with a 5-wicket loss in a 3-match T20I series ahead of the World Cup in the Americas on Tuesday.
The hosts now lead the series 1-0.
Bangladesh, led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, struggled in most of the match's proceedings at Texas' Prairie View cricket ground. First, their batters failed to capitalise and managed only 153 with Towhid Hridoy only managing the highest score of 58 by the visitors.
Till the 12th over, Shanto's team lost wickets at regular intervals but rescue efforts by Hridoy and Mahmudullah took Bangladesh to a decent score in 20 overs.
The US bowling attack was led by Steven Taylor, who took 2 wickets of opener Soumya Sarkar and skipper Shanto.
In the second innings, USA made merry of the 9th ranked Bangladesh team's bowlers to chase down their target with three balls to spare.
Former India U-19 cricketer Harmeet Singh stitched up a 62-run stand for the sixth wicket with Corey Anderson, both remaining unbeaten at the end.
This was USA's only second win over a full Member in T20Is after defeating Ireland in 2021.
