Glenn Phillips stitched together a match-winning partnership with Mitchell Santner to guide New Zealand to a victory against Bangladesh in the 2nd test. Phillips tallied an unbeaten 40 runs in 48 deliveries in the second innings, apart from his 87 from the first essay.
His brilliant show fetched him the Player of the Match award. Chasing a target of 137, the Kiwis were struggling at 69/6 but Phillips and Santner's brilliant stand saw the visitors beat Bangladesh by 4 wickets to level the series.
Ajaz Patel also took the limelight in Bangaldesh’s second innings, bagging a 6-wicket haul. Mitchell Santner, meanwhile, took 3 to bowl the hosts out for 144.
Having won the toss, Bangladesh were dismissed for 172 in the first innings, while New Zealand managed to eke out an 8-run lead, all thanks to Phillips' 87. Eventually, the New Zealanders managed to tie the series, having lost the first Test by 150 runs.
