BCCI announced the annual contracts list for the Indian women's team for the 2022-23 season, in which Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodrigues have earned promotions.
Both the young cricketers along with Renuka Thakur are a part of the B category. They have joined Shafali Verma and Rajeshwari Gayakwad who has been demoted to the B category.
Skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, star batter Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma are the only 3 players who are in the A category.
While veteran pacer Shikha Pandey and wicket-keeper Taniya Bhatia have been dropped, pacer Meghna Singh, batter Devika Vaidya, opener S Meghana, Radha Yadav, left-arm pacer Anjali Sarvani and batter Yastika Bhatia are the new entrants in Category C. Harleen Deol and Sneh Rana remain in the lowest category while injury-prone all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar has been demoted to C from B category.
A player in the A category gets paid ₹50 lakh over and above match fees and ₹30 lakh and ₹10 lakh is allotted for B and C category respectively.
