This long-awaited event saw the BCCI acknowledging and rewarding the cricketers who have remarkably contributed to the sport over the past four years, ensuring that the accomplishments of these athletes were fittingly honored.

During the ceremony, the Polly Umrigar Trophy, a symbol of cricketing excellence, was awarded to four outstanding Indian cricketers for their exceptional performance in international cricket. Mohammed Shami was the recipient for the 2019-20 season, followed by R Ashwin for 2020-21, and Jasprit Bumrah for 2021-22.
