After Team India's embarrassing exit at the T20 World Cup, BCCI finally had the review meeting wherein the head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, NCA head VVS Laxman and chief selector Chetan Sharma participated.

Post the four-hour-long rigorous meeting, secretary Jay Shah informed that the board has shortlisted 20 players for the ODI World Cup, which is set to take place later this year in India. Further, issues of workload management, players' availability, and fitness issues were also discussed in the review meeting that was virtually attended by Roger Binny, the BCCI head.

NCA will have the final say on players' fitness and the Yo yo Test and Dexa Test will now be a part of the selection criteria, Shah informed.

The NCA will work in tandem with the IPL Franchisee to monitor the targeted Indian players participating in the IPL 2023, BCCI stated in its press release. The emerging players will also be required to play substantial domestic cricket to become eligible for selection.
