Indian head coach Rahul Dravid admitted that Jasprit Bumrah's absence from the upcoming T20 World Cup is a big loss for Team India. However, Dravid feels it is an opportunity for someone else to stand up and perform for the team.
The star pacer got ruled out of the upcoming marquee event in Australia due to a back stress fracture. The Indian head coach in his presentation ceremony after India's 49-run defeat said 'Bumrah's absence is a big loss, he's been a great player but it happens, it's an opportunity for someone else to stand up. We'll miss him, his personality around the group'
Praising the team for their performance against Australia and South Africa, Dravid during the press conference said, 'There were some good performances, all in all, we got whatever we wanted from the series, though there were tough games for the bowlers, the boys can be happy that they got the right result.'
On Bumrah's replacement, Dravid said, 'we have time until October 15 and we will see accordingly, Shami is already in the standbys but unfortunately he could not play these games, it could have been ideal'
