Day 3 of the Centurion Test may not have started off as planned for India, but the visitors made sure they ended it on a high. India were 16/1 at stumps and led South Africa by 146 runs.
Resuming at 272/3, India lost the remaining 7 wickets for just 49 runs and were bowled out for 327. Lungi Ngidi was the destroyer in chief and picked 6 wickets. In reply, Indian pacers ran through the South African batters and bowled them out for just 197, securing a healthy 130-run 1st innings lead. Mohammed Shami was lethal with the red cherry and picked up a 5-wicket-haul to become the 5th Indian pacer to enter the 200-wicket club in Tests.
India lost Mayank Agarwal for just 4 runs in the 2nd innings before the umpires called it stumps.
