Cricket likely to make a comeback to Olympics, IOC panel to vote after India vs Pakistan game

In delighting news for cricket fans across the globe, the sport is most likely to make a comeback to the Olympic Games.

The Olympics panel is deliberating among 9 sports, out of which 1 will get a spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. According to a report in the Indian Express, cricket is the front-runner to grab that spot as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) looks to tap into its die-hard fan base.

Over 100 IOC members will vote in Mumbai after the India vs Pakistan clash at the ODI World Cup 2023. A decision is likely to be out on October 15 or 16.

Cricket has only been played in the Olympics once before in 1900, with only France and England competing.
