Over the last 15 months, the viewership records of cricket matches have seen a significant rise after the slump they experienced during last year's IPL.
The first test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia was the third highest-rated bilateral Test match in the past seven years, only behind two Tests between India and England back in 2021.
In fact, the first Test between India and Australia was among the top five most-watched Test matches since 2018 according to the data.
