An ambulance had to be called onto the field after Indian all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer suffered a nasty blow during the Duleep Trophy semi-final between West Zone & Central Zone.
The incident took place at the SNR College Cricket Ground in Tamil Nadu on day 2 of the match. Venkatesh Iyer was hit on the neck by West Zone's Chintan Gaja's wild throw. The all-rounder immediately fell to the ground, clutching his neck and an ambulance had to be called inside the playing area.
But thankfully, the physios were able to get Iyer back on his feet, and after going through all the checks in the dressing room, the KKR all-rounder returned to the crease later. He finished with 14 runs as Central Zone were bowled out for 128 in reply to West Zone's 1st innings total of 257.
