England-New Zealand to kickstart ODI World Cup, India to play Australia first: Reports

The ODI World Cup will likely start on October 5, with England & New Zealand playing the inaugural match in Ahmedabad, with the final will also be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19.

According to a Cricbuzz report, hosts India will start their campaign against heavyweights Australia in Chennai.

With Pakistan agreeing to tour India for the ODI World Cup, the big-ticket game, India vs Pakistan, in all likelihood, will take place on October 15. According to the report, Pakistan will play their matches in Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru, as per the tentative schedule.

Apart from these 4 cities, Kolkata, Delhi, Indore, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Rajkot, Raipur, and Mumbai have been designated as venues for the upcoming event, with Mohali and Nagpur being left out of the list.

While the schedule hasn't been announced officially, the BCCI is expected to reveal the full list of fixtures after the completion of the IPL.

Each team will play a total of 9 round-robin matches, and a total of 48 games will be played, including the two semis and final.
