Indian selectors' attempt at rejigging the T20I captaincy is quite evident with Hardik Pandya getting more chances at leading the team in different T20I series. But amid all the clamour around India's captainship in the shortest format of the game, World Cup-winning skipper Kapil Dev has a piece of advice for the Indian selectors.
While speaking to Gulf News, Kapil Dev who backed Hardik Pandya for leading the team in the T20I format said that even if he loses a series, he shouldn't be given the threat to be removed or removed instantly. 'If you make someone a captain, you have to give him a fairly long rope to make sure he will start performing', he added.
Pandya after leading his IPL team to win in their debut season has been getting the responsibility of leading the team in T20Is and so far the 29-year-old has led the team to win in all 3T20I series he has captained.
