India's world-cup winning batter Gautam Gambhir recently revealed his favourite batting partner in a career spanning across 12 years.
In an interview with Sportskeeda, the 42-year-old said, 'Many people believe that my favourite opening partner was Virender Sehwag but it was actually MS Dhoni.'
'I actually loved playing with MS, especially in white-ball cricket and we've had many big partnerships also together,' the southpaw said.
Gambhir is known for his sharp remarks apart from his batting skills and this revelation may come as a surprise for fans who witnessed India's 2011 World Cup triumph.
It was a partnership between Gambhir and Dhoni that helped India stabilise their innings before the former had to depart for 97.
In a 2020 interview with Lallantop, Gambhir had blamed Dhoni for missing out on his milestone century.
