Pakistan's legendary cricketer Wasim Akram made a major revelation about his drug addiction in his autobiography Sultan: A Memoir.
In his upcoming autobiography, Akram stated that he developed a dependence on cocaine and it started innocuously when it was offered at a party in England but it grew steadily more serious to the point that he needed it to function.
Pakistan's leading wicket-taker in Test and ODI cricket further stated that when his wife Huma found a packet in his wallet, she tried to help him get rid of an addiction but he continued with it mostly because of a bad rehabilitation experience.

However, he finally quit the drug after the demise of her wife Huma due to a rare fungal infection in 2009.
Akram retired from international cricket in 2003 after an astonishing 18 years in international cricket. He finished with 414 wickets in Tests and 502 in ODIs. With the bat, he had scored 2898 runs in the longest format of the game while accumulated 3717 runs in the 50-over game.
