Shubman Gill being rested from the 3-match ODI series vs South Africa cost the opening batter on Wednesday.
He is no longer the number 1 ODI batter as Pakistan's Babar Azam dethroned him to take back the top spot in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for batters.
The former Pakistan skipper has 824 rating points, while Gill has 810. Virat Kohli with 775 points is on the 3rd spot.
In T20Is, India's Suryakumar Yadav continues to maintain his top position in the batters' rankings following a brilliant hundred against the Proteas.
As for the bowlers, Adil Rashid became the new No.1 T20I bowler. Interestingly, he became just the second player from England to hold the No.1 ranking for T20I bowlers after off-spinner Graeme Swann held the top spot back more than a decade ago.
