Axar Patel and Yashasvi Jaiswal were rewarded for their super show in the T20I series against Afghanistan. While Axar jumped 12 places to a career-best 5th position among bowlers, Jaiswal climbed 7 places to a career-best 6th place among batters in the newly released ICC T20I rankings on Wednesday.
Left-arm spinner Axar picked 2/23 and 2/16 in the first 2 T20Is against Afghanistan. On the other hand, opener Jaiswal smashed a 34-ball 68 in the 2nd T20I.
Another batter to make notable gains was Shivam Dube. His 2 consecutive match-winning knocks of 60 and 63 helped him shoot up from 265th to the 58th spot.
An injured Suryakumar Yadav might not be a part of the Indian squad for the Afghanistan series but he continued to hold the top spot in the batters' rankings.
