Ravindra Jadeja needed just 1 Test match after his return from injury to become the new number 1 Test all-rounder, according to the new rankings released by the ICC on Wednesday.
Jadeja, who slammed an unbeaten 175 and took 9 wickets in the Mohali Test vs Sri Lanka, moved up two spots to replace Jason Holder at the top of the all-rounders' list. Ravichandran Ashwin though slipped 1 place to number 3 in the new rankings.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli moved up 2 spots in the batsmen rankings to No.5, while Rishabh Pant climbed to the 10th spot after his fiery 96 in the Mohali Test. Captain Rohit Sharma though slipped a spot to 6th after failing to contribute in the 1st Test.
