Virat Kohli's poor run with the bat saw his Test ranking take a big hit on Wednesday as he dropped out of the top 10 list in the newly announced ICC Test Rankings for batters. He dropped 3 places to the 13th spot.
However, Rishabh Pant was rewarded for his consistent show with the bat and jumped to the 5th spot, his career-high Test rank. The wicketkeeper-batter smashed a fiery 146 in the 1st innings and backed it up with a half-century in the 2nd innings of the Edgbaston Test vs England.
England's Joe Root continues to hold the top spot, which has put him on the elite list of top 20 highest-rated batters in ICC Rankings history.
