India's 5th T20I against Australia which is scheduled to be played on December 3 will now be played in Bengaluru instead of Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
According to reports, the fixture has been shifted to the Chinnaswamy Stadium as the police department are under "immense pressure" to provide security to the visiting teams due to the upcoming elections in the state.
As per a Hyderabad Cricket Association official, “The police department didn’t give us the requisite permission to host the match as on that day the counting will happen. It’s really unfortunate, but we can’t do much."
The Telangana State Assembly elections are scheduled to take place on November 30 and the counting of votes coincides with the date of the match, i.e., December 3.
India will take on Australia in a 5-match T20 series starting on November 23, after the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. India will play its first game in Vishakapatnam
