"We still haven't decided on the final playing XI. It's going to be a really tough decision. There are guys who have performed exceedingly well and there are a few spots open. There are a few discussions going on," - That's what Indian vice-captain KL Rahul said when he was asked whether Shubman Gill will play in the middle-order in the first Test.
With less than 48 hours to go for the Nagpur match, India remain tight-lipped about their playing combination.
When asked whether the pitch that Steve Smith described as 'pretty dry' will see India go in with 3 spinners, Rahul said there will be a temptation to play 3 spinners but they'll have to wait for the first day of the match to see how the wicket looks and then decide on their XI.
The 30-year-old also said that he is "ready to bat in the middle-order if the team wants."
