Rohit Sharma will take some time to get back to full fitness and has been ruled out of the second test against Bangladesh scheduled to take place in Mirpur on December 22.

The Indian skipper has not fully recovered from his thumb injury which he suffered during India's 2nd ODI against Bangladesh on the ongoing tour.

KL Rahul will continue to lead the team in his absence and will go into the 2nd Test looking to seal the 3-match series that India are currently leading 1-0.

Navdeep Saini is also ruled out of the second Test owing to an abdominal muscle strain. The fast bowler will now report to the NCA for further management of his injury.

As of now, it is expected that Rohit Sharma will be available for the white ball series against Sri Lanka which will commence on January 3.
