Jaydev Unadkat is all set to make his comeback to the international side after 12 years. The Saurashtra captain has received a call up for India’s 2-match Test series in Bangladesh as injured Mohd Shami’s replacement.
The 31-year-old left-arm pacer who has played a single Test, that too in 2010 against South Africa, is currently in Rajkot waiting for his visa formalities. He will then join the Team in Chattogram where the first Test will be played starting December 14th. However, BCCI is yet to give confirmation of the development.
Unadkat has had an impressive outing in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare Trophy with Saurashtra, where he picked 19 wickets in 10 games.
Shami who was ruled out of the ODI series, will not play the Tests as well due to his shoulder injury. Apart from him, Rohit Sharma is also expected to miss the Test series due to a thumb injury and Abhimanyu Easwaran who has been playing in the A tour has been called as the opener’s cover according to reports.
