Top India batter Shreyas Iyer, who was not named in the 17-man squad for the remaining three Tests against England, was reportedly dropped from the team.

ESPN Cricinfo reported on Saturday that while Iyer did complain of back spasms post the Vizag Test, he was cleared for selection.

But a series of consistently poor performances, the 29-year-old was reportedly then not considered for selection.

In his last ten Test outings, he has not scored a single half-century with his highest score of 35 coming in the first Test against England in Hyderabad this year.
