Few experts called Rishabh Pant's shot selection nonsense while some called his approach in Test cricket to be careless. Though they were right looking at the way Pant was getting out lately but the wicketkeeper-batter struck form in the Cape Town Test and smashed his 4th overall and 3rd overseas Test hundred.
Pant, in fact, is the only Asian wicketkeeper to score a Test ton in the Rainbow Nation. The southpaw also has the highest score by an Indian keeper in England (114) and in Australia (159*). Pant came out to bat when India was struggling at 58/4 and put on a show in Cape Town.
Interestingly, until today, a total of just 3 Test sixes were hit by Indian wicketkeepers in South Africa and Pant hit 4 in just this knock and helped India set South Africa a target of 212 runs.
